Sandy Ridge Reservation - Cygnets and Rare Birds

On this trip to Sandy Ridge, the warbler migration had pretty much passed its peak week and there were only a few warblers around to see. What did replace the lack of warblers was the birth of the Trumpeter Swan Cygnets! They were very tame surprisingly… the parents were right off the main path with them stirring up food from the ponds floor with their webbed feet. The other great find for the day was the pair of Eastern Kingbirds which are rare to be spotted within Ohio. Finally to wrap the day I captured my first hummingbird - a ruby-throated sitting on a branch waiting to return to the feeder nearby the park building.
